Saddest Moment
The most sad moment in my life that I can remember is attending my Great Grandfather's funeral. He was 87 years old and served in the US Navy during World War Two. All of those who were attending the funeral were family and close family friends. It seemed as although everybody was there. I was one of the casket bearers after the ceramony at the church, I helped load his casket into the back of the herse to go to the cemetery. It was a cold day in late January of 2013, and everybody was huddled together to try to keep warm. Since he was given a military burial, TAPS was played, and almost everybody started to cry if they weren't already. His casket was lowered into the earth so he would forever be 6 feet under from that day on. The preacher at the funeral said a few words, then everyone went to a dinner hall to eat and remember and talk about my Great Grandfathers life.

Yes, that sound like a very sad day. Just the sound of TAPS makes me want to cry let alone remembering a life of a loved one.
